Bixa Hair Studio is a modern luxury salon in the San Antonio / Alamo Heights area, dedicated to healthy, effortless hair. We work with ingredient-conscious, vegan and cruelty-free products, partnering with Davines and Aveda for color and haircare, while always putting the Bixa standard first. Our focus is beautiful color and haircuts for all. Our space is calm and welcoming, with a team that accepts and celebrates everybody who walks through the door. As a non-gratuity salon, we don't accept tips — if you love your hair, the best ‘thank you’ is a review or sending a friend our way.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We at Bixa Hair Studio understand that sometimes things come up, but cancelling your appointment with less than 48hr notice or No Showing does not allow us enough time to fill our appointment time with those on our waiting list. There is a 50% non-refundable service fee for cancelling with less than a 48hr notice.

Owner, Master Stylist & Colorist - Hi! I’m Matthew - Owner of Bixa Hair Studio. I have been in this amazing industry for 16 years and have been a business owner for 12 of those years. I graduated from the Aveda Institute San Antonio in 2009 and have loved Aveda since! Partnering with Aveda in my salon ensures we’re able to create gorgeous hair while keeping a low carbon footprint and working with clean and natural products. I’m a color specialist and very much enjoy creating beautiful hair color for my clients and especially love working with blondes. I opened Bixa to be able to create a relaxing, fun, and safe space for all people to be able to come in and enjoy their time here while getting their hair done.
